International Day against Unilateral Coercive Measures observed on 4 December

• The International Day against Unilateral Coercive Measures was observed for the first time on 4 December.
• This day was proclaimed in June 2025 by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly resolution titled “International Day against Unilateral Coercive Measures.”
• The resolution was prepared on the initiative of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations with the active participation of the Republic of Belarus.
• The resolution was adopted with the support of 116 UN member states.
• The Republic of Belarus is a member of the resolution’s drafting group.
• The establishment of this international day is expected to strengthen international cooperation and solidarity among states in opposing unilateral coercive measures.
