Mansukh Mandaviya leads first anniversary of Fit India Sundays on Cycle

• Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya led the first anniversary celebrations of the ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ initiative at the Rock Beach promenade.
• The initiative was conducted at over 700 districts in 2 lakh locations across the country, with more than 20 lakh people taking part over the course of the year.
• The event was simultaneously held in more than 10,000 locations, including Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Khelo India centres across cities such as Hazaribagh, Kargil, Patiala, and Visakhapatnam.
• The Fit India Mobile App Carbon Credit Incentivization was launched to allow citizens to earn and redeem carbon credits through cycling.
• Three cyclists who earned the highest carbon credits were felicitated during the event for their performance.
• The celebration included participation from legendary hockey goalkeeper P R Sreejesh, table tennis icon Sharath Kamal, and Arjuna Awardee archers Jyothi Surekha and Abhishek Verma from SAI Sonipat.
