Telangana Government renames city roads after global icons and corporations

Key facts

• The state govt has decided to name several roads in the city after US President Donald Trump, Ratan Tata, Google, Microsoft, Wipro, among others.
• The road along the United States consulate general in Hyderabad is set to be called ‘Donald Trump Avenue'.
• The upcoming greenfield radial road connecting the ORR at Raviryal with the proposed RRR will be named after Ratan Tata, with the interchange at Raviryal already named ‘Tata Interchange'.
• A prominent stretch will be named ‘Google Street' in recognition of the global impact and contribution of Google Maps and the corporation at large.
• Proposals for a Wipro Junction and a Microsoft Road are also under consideration.
