Torrent Power Ltd (TPL) signs 10-year SPA with JERA Co. Inc. for 0.27 MMTPA LNG supply from 2027

• Torrent Power Ltd (TPL) has signed a long-term sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with JERA Co. Inc. for up to 0.27 MMTPA of LNG or four LNG cargoes annually for 10 years starting 2027.
• The LNG will be used to operate TPL’s 2,730 MW combined cycle gas-based power plants (GBPPs) in India and to support Torrent Gas Ltd (TGL)’s city gas distribution needs.
• TPL’s aggregate installed generation capacity is 4.96 GWp, including 2.73 GW gas-based, 1.87 GWp renewable, and 362 MW coal-based capacity.
• Projects under development include 3.6 GWp renewable, 3 GW pumped storage, and 1.6 GW coal-based capacity, taking total generation and pumped storage capacity to 10.16 GWp and 3 GW respectively.
• Torrent Power distributes nearly 31 billion units to over 4.21 million customers across Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, suburban Mumbai, and Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
