Department of Posts discontinues select outward international letter mail services

Key facts

• The Department of Posts under the Ministry of Communications will discontinue selected outward international letter mail services starting January 1 to keep in line with Universal Postal Union (UPU)'s decisions.
• Discontinued services include Registered Small Packet service, Outward Small Packet service sent by Sea/SAL/Air, and Surface Air Lifted (SAL) Letter Mail Service for outward letter post items.
• Customers are encouraged to use International Tracked Packet Service (ITPS) and other international parcel services that provide end-to-end tracking, faster delivery, better customs compliance, and security.
