Delhi Metro Magenta Line Extension approved under Phase V(A) to become NCR’s longest corridor with 21 interchange stations.

Key facts

• Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated that Phase V(A) extension of Magenta Line from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha via Central Vista was approved on 24 December 2025.
• The extended Magenta Line will run 89 km from Botanical Garden to Inderlok, making it the longest corridor in the Delhi Metro network.
• The corridor will have 65 stations in total, including 40 underground stations.
• Upon completion, the Magenta Line will have 21 interchange stations, up from the current four operational interchange stations: Kalkaji Mandir, Botanical Garden, Janakpuri West, and Hauz Khas.
• Triple interchange stations on the extended Magenta Line will be Central Secretariat, Azadpur, New Delhi, and Inderlok.
• DMRC announced that the entire Magenta Line will operate as a driverless metro corridor once fully operational.
