IBM AI GovTech Innovation Centre and Software Lab inaugurated by UP CM Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow

• Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the IBM AI GovTech Innovation Centre and Software Lab in Lucknow on 22 February 2026.
• The 500-seater facility is located at Platinum Mall in Sushant Golf City and is IBM’s first software lab in Northern India.
• The centre will focus on advancing Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies for government and enterprise use cases.
• It will operate under IBM India Software Labs (ISL), contributing to IBM’s global portfolio in data and AI, automation, cybersecurity, and sustainability.
• The lab will develop AI-powered solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs) and Small Language Models (SLMs) for Indian and global markets.
• CM Yogi Adityanath stated the lab will boost Uttar Pradesh’s economy by creating jobs and engaging local talent.
• The state government aims to develop Lucknow as an “AI city” and supports IBM’s expansion to strengthen the IT and ITeS sector.
• The lab will offer roles in software engineering, application development, technical testing, and UX design.
• IBM Software Labs in India currently operate from Bengaluru, Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, Kochi, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
