Adani Defence delivers first batch of 2,000 ‘Prahar’ light machine guns to Indian Army

• Adani Defence & Aerospace delivered the first batch of 2,000 indigenously manufactured 7.62 mm ‘Prahar’ light machine guns to the Indian Army.
• The 7.62 mm-calibre weapons have been produced at the company’s Small Arms Complex near Gwalior.
• The delivery was completed in seven months, ahead of the contracted schedule, with the first production model realised in six months against an 18-month development timeline.
• The Gwalior facility has an annual production capacity of up to 100,000 weapons and domestic sourcing of over 90 per cent.
• A Anbarasu, DG Acquisition & Addl Secretary, Ministry of Defence (MoD), Government of India, attended the event along with senior officials of the Indian Armed Forces.
• The company’s ammunition complex in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, commissioned in 2024, has an annual capacity of about 300 million rounds of small calibre ammunition.
