International Day of Women Judges is observed on 10 March every year.
The day was established by the United Nations (UN) to promote the full and equal participation of women at all levels of the judiciary.
Europe leads with 54 per cent female judges, followed by the Americas with 51 per cent; Oceania, Africa and Asia average 31 per cent, 30 per cent and 29 per cent respectively.
The Global Judicial Integrity Network of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) brings together judges worldwide to strengthen judicial integrity and gender equality.
In 2024 the UNDP–UN Women Gender Justice Platform supported work in 45 countries, helping over 125 000 people and strengthening 82 justice institutions.
