Key facts
- Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Paatil inaugurated the new office of the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) at R.K. Puram, New Delhi.
- The Minister launched NETRA (NDSA Engine for Tracking and Review using AI), an artificial intelligence-enabled platform developed in collaboration with the Weapons and Electronics Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE) of the Indian Navy.
- NETRA is integrated with DHARMA, the national repository of dam safety data covering more than 6,600 specified dams and thousands of inspection reports.
- The Rashtriya Bandh Suraksha Darpan (RBSD) visualisation platform, developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), was launched to present Dam Break Analysis (DBA) results through digital mapping.
