Tourist permits for Lachen and Gurudongmar Lake in North Sikkim resumed from 9 March 2026.
Permits had been suspended after the South Lhonak glacial lake outburst flood in October 2023 damaged roads and bridges across North Sikkim.
Applications for permits can be submitted through the district collectorate in Mangan or authorised tour operators as per government guidelines.
Mangan District Collector Anant Jain confirmed that permits would be issued from Monday.
