- An eight-year-old GPS-collared female sloth bear covered approximately 50 km in 24 hours before entering Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Airport at Sogane village in Shivamogga, Karnataka.
- The bear had been translocated to Bhadra wildlife division on March 27 after initial capture near JSW factory in Toranagallu, Vijayanagara district.
- Forest officials tranquilised the animal inside the airport compound in the presence of DCF (Bhadravathi division) BM Ravindra Kumar and Bhadra Tiger Reserve director Pulkit Meena.
- The captured bear was shifted to an observation cell at Shivamogga Zoo and reported to be stable.
