Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana: Punjab Cabinet clears monthly aid of ₹1,000–₹1,500 for over 97% women

Key facts

• The Punjab Cabinet approved the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana to provide ₹1,000 per month to all other women and ₹1,500 per month to Scheduled Caste women.
• The scheme is expected to benefit more than 97% of women in Punjab.
• A budgetary provision of ₹9,300 crore has been sanctioned for the scheme in 2026-27.
• Eligible women must be 18 years or above, registered as voters in Punjab, possess a valid Aadhaar card with Punjab residency, and hold a valid Voter ID issued by the Election Commission of India.
• Financial assistance will be transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts under the Direct Benefit Transfer mode.
• There is no restriction on the number of eligible women in a family, and existing social security pensioners will continue to receive full benefits under this scheme in addition to their pensions.
