Sumitra Guha and Laxman Pandit Honoured with Sur Jyotsna National Music Awards

• Veteran Hindustani vocalists Sumitra Guha and Pandit Laxman Krishnarao Pandit were honoured at the 13th edition of the Sur Jyotsna National Music Awards for their contribution to Indian classical music.
• The awards were instituted in memory of Jyotsna Darda, the founder of Lokmat Sakhi Manch.
• The awards ceremony took place at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi and the honours were presented by Supreme Court judge Justice Sandeep Mehta.
• The awards recognise excellence in Indian music and encourage emerging talent through selections from vocal and instrumental categories.
• The awards were held across nine cities: Nagpur, Yavatmal, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Kolhapur, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and New Delhi.
