Maritime Reform Utsav and Digital Governance Initiatives by MoPSW

• Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) Sarbananda Sonowal announced the 'Maritime Reform Utsav' to commemorate 12 years of reforms and growth in the maritime sector.
• The MoPSW will develop an integrated digital platform and mobile application under the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) to provide real-time service delivery and digital documentation.
• These initiatives are aligned with the national vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047' to transform India into a modern and globally competitive maritime power.
• A dedicated monitoring and coordination committee will be constituted to ensure the expeditious disposal of grievances, court cases, and legal matters.
• The ministry will accelerate the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data-driven monitoring mechanisms to improve operational efficiency and transparency across the maritime sector.
