Forty-five senior Church leaders announced the formation of the National Federation of Churches in India (NFCI) during the 4th Ecumenical meeting of the Catholic Bishops Council of India (CBCI) held in Bengaluru.
Cardinal Anthony Poola, the chairman of the CBCI office for Dialogue, has been named as the chairperson of the new national body.
Archbishop Joseph D’Souza, Archbishop Joseph Kallarangatt, and Rt. Rev. Vincent Vinod Kumar will serve as the convenors of the NFCI.
Father Anthonyraj Thumma, the national secretary of the CBCI, has been appointed as the secretary of the federation.
