Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approves ₹7,597 Crore Highway Expansion Project in Telangana

Key facts

• The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the widening of National Highways 63 and 563 in Telangana to four-lane standards at a total cost of ₹7,597.16 crore.
• The project covers a combined length of 190.76 km, comprising the Armoor–Jagtial–Mancherial section of NH-63 and the Jagtial–Karimnagar section of NH-563.
• The expansion will be executed using the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) for NH-63 stretches and the Build-Operate-Transfer (Toll) model for the NH-563 stretch.
• The project aligns with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan and will connect five economic nodes, including Special Economic Zones (SEZs) at Siddipet and Warangal Urban and Mega Food Parks at Nizamabad and Siddipet.
• The infrastructure development is expected to generate 34.43 lakh direct man-days and 42.7 lakh indirect man-days of employment while reducing travel time between Armoor and Mancherial by 90 minutes.
