- The Centre extended the validity of the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Microfinance Institutions (CGSMFI-2.0) until August 31, 2026, or until guarantees covering ₹20,000 crore are issued, whichever occurs first.
- The CGSMFI-2.0 was introduced on March 20, 2026, and was previously scheduled to remain in force until June 30, 2026.
- The maximum loan amount eligible for large-sized Non-Banking Financial Company-Microfinance Institutions (NBFC-MFIs) and Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) has been increased from ₹300 crore to ₹1,000 crore.
