e-Zero FIR Initiative for Cyber Crime and TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Review

Key facts

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised states during a PRAGATI meeting to implement e-Zero FIRs for cyber crime cases to prevent victims from visiting multiple police stations or agencies.
• The e-Zero FIR is a digital initiative by the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) that automatically converts verified high-value cyber financial fraud complaints into Zero FIRs to fast-track investigations.
• Only nine states currently have the e-Zero FIR system in place, prompting the Prime Minister to direct the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to coordinate with state Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police (DGP).
• Under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the Prime Minister reviewed implementation plans for West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat, and Ladakh, suggesting the involvement of Class-1 officers, National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets, and MY Bharat volunteers.
• The Prime Minister emphasised the use of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for infrastructure projects to ensure efficient planning, real-time data updates, and improved inter-agency coordination.
