Global Climate and Health Alliance urges tripling of adaptation finance at Bonn Climate Conference 2026

Key facts

• The 64th sessions of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB64) under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) took place in Bonn from 8 June to 18 June 2026.
• The Global Climate and Health Alliance (GCHA) urged governments to triple public, grant-based adaptation finance to at least $120 billion by 2035.
• A previous adaptation finance goal of $40 billion was established four years ago at the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland.
• Current pledges to the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage total just over $800 million.
• The SB64 sessions are intended to lay the groundwork for COP31, which will be held in Antalya, Türkiye.
