India and United States of America (USA) conclude 99% of bilateral trade agreement negotiations

• India and the United States of America (USA) have completed 99 per cent of negotiations for the first tranche of their bilateral trade agreement.
• A USA trade delegation is scheduled for negotiations in New Delhi from June 2 to June 4, 2026.
• The framework agreement for the trade deal was announced by the leaders of both nations on February 3.
• The proposed agreement covers tariff concessions, customs facilitation, non-tariff barriers, investment promotion, digital trade, and supply-chain resilience.
• The USA has assured that no additional tariffs under Section 301 of the US Trade Act of 1974 will be imposed if the agreement is finalised before July 24.
