- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Meteorological Centre in Lucknow was upgraded to a Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) to cater to the meteorological needs of Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Uttarakhand.
- India's Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) infrastructure expanded from 17 in 2014 to 50 at present, with 50 more proposed under Mission Mausam over the next two years.
