India ranks 13th in Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World Future Skills Index 2027 released in June 2026

• India is ranked 13th globally in the QS World Future Skills Index 2027 with an overall score of 89.4 out of 100, improving from 25th position in the 2025 pilot edition.
• The United States of America (USA) topped the global rankings, followed by Australia in second place and the United Kingdom (UK) in third place.
• The index evaluates the readiness of 89 countries based on four equally weighted indicators: Skills Alignment, Academic Readiness, Future of Work, and Economic Transformation.
• India secured the 5th position globally in the Future of Work indicator, 14th in Economic Transformation, 18th in Skills Alignment, and 22nd in Academic Readiness.
• The report identifies the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as structurally sound and lists Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) as globally competitive institutions.
