The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has released uniform guidelines for the compilation of District Domestic Product (DDP) estimates with the base year 2022-23.
The National Statistics Office (NSO), under MoSPI, had previously uploaded the draft guidelines on 7 April for consultation and feedback from stakeholders.
The guidelines provide a framework for the compilation of Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP), Net District Domestic Product (NDDP), and Per Capita Income at the district level.
The framework emphasises a bottom-up approach for DDP estimates where feasible, while recommending top-down approaches and allocation indicators where district-wise information is inadequate.
Currently, 26 States and Union Territories are compiling DDP estimates.
