  • The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) reported that Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions reached a record value of ₹29.90 trillion and a volume of 23.20 billion in May.
  • The UPI transaction value in May rose by 3 per cent from ₹29.03 trillion in April, while the volume increased by 4 per cent from 22.35 billion.
  • According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Payments Systems Report, the average ticket size of UPI declined from ₹1,848 in 2021 to ₹1,313 in 2025.
  • FASTag transactions in May increased by 5 per cent to 375 million in volume and 4 per cent to ₹7,308 crore in value compared to April.
