Operation Milap: Gujarat Police Traces 1,470 Missing Persons

• The Gujarat Police successfully traced 1,470 missing persons during a month-long statewide special drive titled Operation Milap.
• The operation was launched on 7 May under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi to review pending missing persons cases registered since 2007.
• Of the 1,470 persons traced, the group comprised 852 women, 342 men, 234 minor girls, and 42 minor boys.
• The Surat City Police recorded the highest number of recoveries during the drive, successfully tracing 341 missing persons.
• The Crime Investigation Department (CID) Crime (Women Cell) reported recoveries from states including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.
