Union Minister Pralhad Joshi launches WT-MARUT portal and announces wind energy targets

• Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) Pralhad Joshi announced that India aims to achieve 100 GW of installed wind energy capacity by 2030 and 155 GW by 2035.
• India launched its first dedicated digital platform for wind turbine supply chain management named WT-MARUT during the Global Wind Day conference held in Goa.
• India currently possesses over 56.1 GW of installed wind energy capacity, ranking as the fourth-largest wind energy market globally with an estimated total potential of 1,164 GW.
• The country recorded its highest annual installation of 6.1 GW in FY 2025-26, representing a 46 per cent year-on-year increase in wind power capacity.
• Exports of wind turbines and related components from India exceeded ₹12,000 crore in FY 2025-26, marking a nearly 50 per cent increase from the previous fiscal year.
