United States launches Project Patriot Pipeline to strengthen defence industrial base on 4 June 2026

• The United States (US) Department of Defence (Pentagon) launched Project Patriot Pipeline to channel veterans, military spouses, and federal workers into critical defence manufacturing, engineering, and cybersecurity roles.
• The initiative is a central pillar of the Arsenal of Freedom campaign, which aims to rebuild the Defence Industrial Base (DIB) and modernise government-owned depots.
• Project Patriot Pipeline was formally announced by Anthony J Tata, the Undersecretary of War for Personnel and Readiness.
• The programme targets high-priority domains including advanced aerospace platforms, naval manufacturing (welders and shipwrights), cybersecurity operations, and the Golden Dome missile defence system.
• The War Department is modifying the SkillBridge programme to facilitate on-the-job internships with private sector partners during the final 180 days of service for separating members.
