The United States Department of Defence (DoD) has restored the name of the US Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) to the US Pacific Command (USPACOM).
USPACOM was originally established on 1 January 1947 by President Harry S. Truman.
USPACOM is the oldest and largest of the unified combatant commands of the United States.
The area of responsibility for USPACOM extends from the West Coast of the United States to the western border of India.
The command had been renamed as USINDOPACOM in 2018 during the first term of President Donald Trump.
