Government proposes three-year PUC validity for BS-VI vehicles

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) proposed extending the Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) validity for BS-VI private vehicles up to three years for the first six years.
BS-VI vehicles aged between 6 and 10 years will require annual PUCC renewal, while those above 10 years will need renewal every six months.
For BS-IV vehicles, the PUCC renewal period remains unchanged at every six months.
BS-I, BS-II, and BS-III vehicles will require PUCC renewal every three months under the proposed rules.
For new transport/commercial vehicles, PUCC validity is proposed at every two years up to six years, then annually for 6-10 years, and every six months beyond 10 years.
