India Reaffirms Support for Palestine’s UN Membership Bid

• India announced its support for Palestine's membership in the United Nations during a donor group meeting in Brussels.
• External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made the announcement on July 14, 2026, at the launch of India's campaign for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the 2028-29 term.
• India committed to establishing a specialty hospital, an artificial limb fitment centre, and a vocational training institute for Palestine.
• India is among the top donors to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
• Since 2023, India has delivered approximately 135 metric tonnes of humanitarian aid to Palestine, and over the past decade has provided around $80 million in development assistance.
