The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted a flight test of the Pinaka Long-Range Guided Rocket (LRGR) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur, Balasore.
The flight test validated the user-defined minimum strike range of 60 km for the Pinaka rocket system.
The rocket was designed by the Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) in collaboration with the High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL).
Development support for the system was provided by the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) and the Research Centre Imarat (RCI).
The system demonstrated the ability to fire different variants of the Pinaka rocket family, including a 120-km strike range version, from the same in-service Pinaka launcher.
