Operation Surakshit Cyberspace: Safe Digital Ecosystem for Women and Children

Key facts

• Gujarat Police launched 'Operation Surakshit Cyberspace', a 28-day statewide campaign running from July 1 to July 28, 2026, to create a secure digital ecosystem for women and children.
• The initiative is conducted under the guidance of Director General of Police (DGP) Dr. K. L. N. Rao, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) (Crime & Railways).
• Local SHE Teams and dedicated Cyber Crime Police Stations will spearhead the grassroots implementation through community outreach and awareness programmes.
• The campaign is based on the motto: Protection through awareness, investigation through technology, action through law, and a secure Gujarat through public cooperation.
• The operation has set targets to educate 25 lakh citizens, encourage 20 lakh students to take the Cyber Safety Pledge, conduct awareness programmes in 10,000 schools and 1,500 colleges, sensitise 1 lakh adolescent girls, organise 5,000 parental awareness sessions, and ensure preliminary police action within 24 hours of every cyber complaint involving women and children.
