Subhadra Yojana: Odisha Transfers ₹20,648 Crore to Over 1 Crore Women

Key facts

• The Odisha government has transferred more than ₹20,648 crore directly into the bank accounts of over one crore women through four instalments under the Subhadra Yojana.
• The scheme provides eligible women between the ages of 21 and 60 with an annual financial assistance of ₹10,000, paid in two equal instalments of ₹5,000.
• Over the five-year implementation period from 2024-25 to 2028-29, each beneficiary is expected to receive a total of ₹50,000 through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.
• The fifth instalment of the scheme is scheduled to be released on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan in August.
• The Women and Child Development Department oversees the scheme, with Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida directing the completion of pending field verifications by 25 July.
• Approximately 1.15 crore applications have been received so far, including 3.17 lakh fresh applications submitted during the 2026-27 financial year.
• Around 1.02 crore women have been initially identified as potential beneficiaries for the upcoming instalment, which requires Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-linked bank accounts.
