Assam in Final Stage of Partner Selection for AssamSAT Project

• The Assam government is in the final stage of selecting a private sector partner to implement its own earth observation satellite, AssamSAT.
• AssamSAT is intended to be India's first state-led Earth observation satellite system.
• The satellite will be developed under the DBLOTT model (Design, Build, Launch, Operate, Train and Transfer).
• The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) of the Department of Space.
• The satellite aims to provide data for agriculture, disaster management, border security, and police operations.
