CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR-NAL) unveils three indigenous gas turbine engines for UAVs, drone interceptors and missiles

• CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR-NAL) unveiled three indigenously developed micro and small gas turbine engines named NJ-05, NJ-50, and NJ-100.
• The NJ-05 engine produces five kilograms of thrust, the NJ-50 produces 50 kilograms, and the NJ-100 produces 100 kilograms of thrust.
• These engines are designed to power tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), drone interceptors, and compact missile systems.
• The engines were unveiled at the SSB Auditorium at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) headquarters in New Delhi.
• The development involved progress in high-RPM turbomachinery and high-temperature combustion technologies.
• The indigenous engines are expected to reduce dependence on imported aerospace propulsion systems and support India's expanding unmanned defence capabilities.
