Samtel HAL Display Systems (SHDS), a joint venture between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Samtel Avionics, inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Gurugram on August 26, 2026.
The facility is India's first public-private joint venture in defence avionics to indigenously design, qualify, and serially produce multifunction displays for fighter aircraft.
The new facility will house testing and quality assurance capabilities for advanced display systems, supporting design, development, manufacturing, and product support.
SHDS displays are already fitted on the Su-30 MKI and have been selected for HAL's Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) and Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) programmes.
The company expects its annual turnover to potentially double to ₹400-500 crore over the next three to four years.
