PM Vishwakarma scheme: Kodagu artisans trained in AI and e-commerce

Key facts

• The Branch MSME Development and Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Mangaluru, under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, organised a one-day awareness programme on branding and marketing for PM Vishwakarma scheme beneficiaries in Kushalnagar, Kodagu district.
• Around 150 tailor beneficiaries registered under the PM Vishwakarma scheme participated in the event.
• Participants received practical guidance on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for business promotion, digital marketing techniques, onboarding on e-commerce platforms, QR code generation, and registration on the Udyam Portal.
• Sundar Sherigar, Assistant Director and Head of Office, Branch MSME-DFO, Mangaluru, stressed the importance of adopting AI-based marketing tools and digital technologies to enhance the visibility and competitiveness of small enterprises.
• Suman S. Raju, Assistant Director and programme coordinator, explained the stages and benefits of the PM Vishwakarma scheme and highlighted the significance of Udyam Registration for accessing government schemes.
• Hanumatharaya, Joint Director of the District Industries Centre, Madikeri, delivered a session on the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) explaining its key features, eligibility criteria, and application process.
