Union Cabinet Approves Railway and Highway Projects Worth Rs 13,041 Crore Across Five States

• The approved railway projects include a 173-km fourth line between Kharagpur and Bhadrak (Ranital), a 75-km fourth line between Bhadrak and Haridaspur, 90-km third and fourth lines between Gummidipundi and Gudur, and 72-km third and fourth lines between Cuttack and Paradeep.
• The highway project involves four-laning of the 83-km Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi-Sonbarsa corridor on NH-22 in Bihar, with completion expected in 30 months.
• The highway corridor is expected to reduce travel time from two hours to one hour and improve connectivity to Baba Garibnath Temple and Punaura Dham.
