• On 19 August 2026, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu flagged off the scaled-up phase of transshipment cargo reform at Delhi's IGI Airport.
• The Proof of Concept on the Chennai–Delhi–Frankfurt route reduced average end-to-end transit time from 60 hours to 20 hours.
• The PoC, which commenced on 20 June 2026, transshipped 280 metric tonnes of cargo.
• Aircraft capacity utilization on the PoC route rose from 75% to nearly 100%.
• The network expanded to four additional domestic origin stations: Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
• Two new international destinations were added: London and Copenhagen.
• The expanded network is projected to increase Air India's monthly cargo carriage from 1,763 metric tonnes to 3,183 metric tonnes, an increase of nearly 80%.
