Air Marshal KAA Sanjeeb has been appointed as the Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance of the Indian Air Force (IAF), succeeding Air Marshal Sanjiv Ghuratia who superannuated after 39 years of service.
He was commissioned into the IAF in September 1988 in the Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) Branch.
He has extensive field experience on IL-76, Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) and Boeing 737-200 aircraft, and was the lead engineer for induction of the first IL-78 Flight Refueller Aircraft in 2003.
He was among the pioneers involved in inducting and operationalising the AWACS fleet in the IAF.
He has held key appointments including Director General (Aircraft), Director General (Systems) and Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Maintenance Plans) at Air Headquarters.
He was awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2026 and the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2015 for distinguished service.
