IAF Sarang Helicopter Display Team Arrives in Egypt for El Alamein International Airshow

• The Indian Air Force's Sarang Helicopter Display Team arrived in El Alamein, Egypt, to participate in the second edition of the El Alamein International Airshow scheduled from 8 to 10 September.
• The team, along with five helicopters and associated equipment, was ferried from Sulur Air Force Station in south India by the IAF's C-17 Globemaster-III heavy lift transport aircraft.
• Sarang will showcase precision, synchronisation and flying skills using the indigenously designed and manufactured Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv.
• The team is recognised as the world's only helicopter aerobatic display team.
• The team will perform signature aerial displays involving four helicopters during the three-day event at El Alamein International Airport.
• The Indian Embassy in Egypt hosted an event highlighting India-Egypt defence collaboration and participation in the airshow.
• India's Ambassador to Egypt, Suresh Reddy, attended the press conference alongside the commander and pilots of the Sarang Display Team.
• The team's helicopters are brightly painted in a peacock livery, with 'Sarang' meaning peacock in Sanskrit.
• The Sarang team will display its famous 'Dolphin Leap' manoeuvre and also present a new manoeuvre called the Spot Stall Turn.
• The participation marks a significant moment for India's growing defence ties with Egypt.
