Delhi Ridge Management Board (DRMB) Reconstituted with Statutory Powers

• The Union environment ministry (MoEFCC) has reconstituted the Delhi Ridge Management Board (DRMB) with statutory powers.
• The December 1 notification for the Delhi Ridge Management Board (DRMB) was issued under powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
• The Delhi Ridge Management Board (DRMB) will be responsible for issuing permissions related to use of the Delhi Ridge, and monitoring and acting against encroachments and other violations.
• The Delhi Ridge Management Board (DRMB) will have 13 members and be headed by the chief secretary of the Delhi government.
