The 3rd Indian Lighthouse Festival was inaugurated at MGM Park, Visakhapatnam, by former Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) is developing 75 lighthouses across 10 states and Union Territories with modern tourist facilities under Maritime India Vision 2030 and Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
Andhra Pradesh has already opened 10 of its 17 lighthouses for tourism, generating livelihoods through SHG-run stalls.
