Delhi Government launches Bhu-Aadhaar to assign 14-digit Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN)

• The Delhi government has launched the Bhu-Aadhaar initiative to assign a unique 14-digit identification number to every land parcel in the city to resolve boundary disputes.
• The Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN), dubbed Bhu-Aadhaar, is part of the central government's Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme (DILRMP) launched in 2021.
• The implementation of the project is being handled by the IT branch of the revenue department with support from the Survey of India (SoI).
• A new digital land map of Delhi will be prepared using drone surveys and high-resolution imaging to generate accurate ULPINs.
• Approximately 2 terabytes (TB) of geospatial data and drone-based Ortho Rectified Images (ORI) are being obtained from the SoI for the project.
• The initiative covers all areas of Delhi, including 48 villages already integrated under the Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA) scheme.
• A pilot project was successfully completed in Tilangpur Kotla village in West Delhi district, resulting in the generation of 274 ULPIN records.
• The government has allocated ₹1.32 crore for the project to ensure transparency, curb fraudulent transactions, and facilitate coordination among departments.
