Mission Karmayogi 2.0 to Institutionalise Capacity Building Reforms and AI-Enabled Governance

Key facts

• The National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB), popularly known as Mission Karmayogi, was launched in 2020 to transition towards a competency-driven training system.
• Mission Karmayogi 2.0 aims to institutionalise reforms by embedding learning into roles, governance priorities, and institutional culture across ministries, departments, and states.
• The Integrated Government Online Training (iGOT) Karmayogi platform serves as the national digital learning portal to ensure standardised quality of capacity building across the country.
• The Capacity Building Commission (CBC) is developing training for an Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled governance ecosystem for frontline workers, including panchayat sachivs, urban local body representatives, anganwadi workers, constables, and traffic constables.
• India launched a global alliance for digital capacity building at the India AI Impact summit, with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Brazil expressing interest in the programme architecture.
