Anaemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan: Revised Guidelines for Anaemia Control

• The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) is set to launch revised operational guidelines for the Anaemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) Abhiyaan on June 29, 2026.
• The programme has transitioned from AMB to AMB Abhiyaan, expanding the existing 6x6x6 strategy into a 7x7x7 framework.
• The revised framework introduces low birth weight babies (0-6 months) as a seventh beneficiary group and adds an eating right component to promote iron-rich and diversified diets.
• The existing T3 approach (Test, Treat, Talk) is replaced by a T4 strategy (Test, Treat, Talk, Track), with intravenous iron therapy using Ferric Carboxymaltose and Iron Sucrose recommended for severe anaemia.
• Digital monitoring will be integrated through the JANANI Portal for pregnant women and the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) and U-WIN portals for children, converging into a unified AMB Abhiyaan Portal.
