Development Projects in Gujarat, Daman, and Lakshadweep worth ₹21,700 Crore

Key facts

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch development projects worth more than ₹21,700 crore across Gujarat, Daman and Diu, and Lakshadweep on June 5.
• Projects in Gujarat worth ₹18,800 crore include the dedication of Packages VI and VII of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway and the inauguration of a 200-bed Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Surat.
• The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of National Highway-56 (NH-56) to improve connectivity to the Statue of Unity and develop utility facilities at the Jambusar Bulk Drug Park.
• In Daman, projects worth approximately ₹2,970 crore will be launched, including the inauguration of the NAMO Airport terminal and NAMO Hospital, and foundation stones for a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) campus.
• Four development projects worth ₹885 crore will be initiated for Lakshadweep, focusing on port facilities and multipurpose jetties at Kalpeni and Kadmat islands to support cruise vessels and fish processing.
