The Fotu La Tunnel project on National Highway-01 (NH-01) in Ladakh has been approved with an estimated cost of ₹1,196.22 crore.
The project covers a 2.65-kilometre alignment, which includes a 1.96-kilometre twin-tube tunnel and 0.69 kilometre of approach roads.
The tunnel is located at Fotu La Pass, situated at an altitude of about 4,108 metres, the highest point on the Uri–Srinagar–Leh highway corridor.
