• Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd (KSSL), the wholly-owned defence subsidiary of Bharat Forge Ltd, signed a strategic partnership with American military vehicle maker AM General for mounted artillery gun systems for the global market.
• The partnership announcement was made at the ongoing biennial Eurosatory defence exposition in Paris.
• AM General has offered a proposal to participate in the US Army Mobile Tactical Cannon (MTC) programme, which includes development and delivery of a 155mm MTC solution based on KSSL's mounted artillery gun platform.
• Delivery of the 155mm MTC solution is planned in 2027 upon its down-selection by the US government.
• The MARG system features a 52-calibre 155mm cannon with patented Soft Recoil Technology (SRT), an automated load-assist, and an advanced all-weather fire control suite, firing standard high-explosive projectiles over 40 kilometres.
